Admissions
Applying to NCCC is the first step toward achieving the goal of a high quality education. NCCC accepts students in the Fall and Spring semesters, depending on program availability. NCCC offers 38 degree granting programs and 17 certificate programs. NCCC now offers students the convenience of completing some of these programs completely online. Students can apply online by clicking “Apply” and choosing “banner web – apply online” after carefully reading the information page.
NCCC has an "Open Door" Admissions Policy which allows applicants to be accepted to the College on a "first come, first served" basis.
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school or present verification of a high school equivalency diploma. Non-high school degree applicants are requested to meet with an admissions adviser to discuss their options.

Advisement
The Academic Advisement center, open year round, is the coordination center for all academic advisement matters.
Academic advisement is a professional complement to the teaching functions of the faculty at Niagara County Community College. Faculty is the primary agents who deliver academic advisement. These faculty advisors assist students with appropriate course selection from their chosen field of study and serve as resource persons to guide the students to other services available at the college.
Additionally, they help students gather information regarding transfer to upper division schools and career opportunities.
It is the responsibility of each student to satisfy all degree requirements.
Every matriculated student (a student who is formally admitted to a degree or certificate program) is assigned a permanent academic advisor. This faculty member is available for consultation on a regular basis.
Advisement services are provided for students who need special guidance. An intensive advisement program is available for high-need students who fail two or more admissions placement tests.

Disabled Students
Disabled students will find NCCC well suited to their needs. The architectural design of the College provides a barrier-free environment with accommodations to enable students with disabilities to feel as comfortable as possible. Most of the campus is street level and there are ramps and elevators where necessary. Rest rooms, drinking fountains and telephones are also accessible.***
In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the College provides reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, including those with specific learning disabilities.
Students with learning disabilities must provide documentation by a qualified professional that proves they are eligible for accommodations. They are expected to work with instructors and support personnel to identify and use compensatory strategies.
Students with disabilities should contact the Coordinator of Services for Disabled Students as soon as they decide to attend NCCC. The Coordinator will assist students with academic support and special accommodations when necessary, including providing accommodations for the Basic Skills tests. Accommodations will be based upon individual needs and course requirements. Examples may include tutoring, readers and writers for examinations, note takers, special learning materials and equipment. NCCC has a variety of computer hardware, software and adaptive equipment that is available for students with disabilities.
The Health Services Center is also available to assist students. A student organization, the Disabled Students Association (DSA), serves as a support group and provides a collective voice for students at the College.
Inquires regarding application of and compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 may be directed to the Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities, Affirmative Action Officer, or the ADA Coordinator. Any information pertaining to disabilities will be confidential and will not affect the student's admission to the College.
