NCCC Alumni Association  

What is the Alumni Association?
The NCCC Alumni Association is a not-for-profit, fee-paying membership group. It is dedicated to the continuation of quality education at NCCC through scholarship programs. It is a social, service and recreational organization developed for the enrichment of its members, current student body and the NCCC family; and it is a referral center for the sharing of information about its members and the College.

How is the Association Run?
The Alumni Association is governed by an elected board of directors who meet bi-monthly.

Who Can Be a Member?
Any former student in good standing who has completed 50 credit hours is eligible for membership in this Association.

NCCC Distinguished Alumni Award

The NCCC Distinguished Alumni Award, first given in 1988, is presented each year to graduates of NCCC who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their life, career, and volunteer activities. The award is one of the highest honors that the college bestows to those who can point to NCCC as the place where they got their start.

Recipients are selected on the basis of professional and personal accomplishments, community service, and unique background.

 
Nomination Criteria:
  1. Community Involvement: An alumna/us who has made a demonstrable impact on the community’s quality of life. Someone who exceeds what is required in organizations and groups. A person whose insights and leadership affect community programs and interests. Someone who has demonstrated success in working with people in the community.
     
  2. Professional Employment: An alumna/us who has demonstrated leadership and excellence in his or her career. A person who has distinguished his or herself as a leader in his or her chosen field.
     
  3. Dedicated Service to the College: An alumna/us who has served NCCC in an outstanding way. Someone who has contributed to higher education, through advancement, athletics, academics, or research. A person whose service has positively affected NCCC. The recipient should best exemplify the spirit of NCCC.
     
Guidelines & Procedures:
  • Complete the application form and attach a one-page narrative supporting your nomination. Resumes can be included.
     
  • Nominees cannot be current NCCC, NCCC Foundation, NCCC Alumni Association, NCCC College Association or Housing Board employees or Board members.
     
  • Nominees are to be retired from the entities mentioned above for two years prior to September 1 of the nominating year.
     
  • The nominated individual must have completed 50 or more credit hours at NCCC to be considered for this award.
     
  • Nominations should be made by persons other than
    the candidate's immediate family.
     
  • Persons running for political office will not be considered during the campaign period.
