Bill Beilein, has made a name for himself at Niagara County Community College and just finished his fourth season where he has raked in over 70 wins.
In his fourth season, the Men’s Basketball team swept five Conference teams, Jamestown, Jamestown-Olean, Genesee, Alfred State and Mercyhurst NE, defeated Erie 2 out of 3 times and picked up 21 wins. The Thunderwolves finished their 2012/2013 season 21-9 after being defeated by Erie CC at the Region III Tournament. Beilein will be back for this fifth season and is confident they will make it to the Championship round of the Regional Tournament.
Beilein comes to NCCC after spending a season as the Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach at Medialle College. He was responsible for coaching, recruiting, scouting and film exchange. The squad reached the NCAA Tournament after claiming the conference and regular-season titles and finishing 21-7.
Beilein, nephew of Michigan Head Men’s Basketball Coach John Beilein, spent time as the boys’ junior varsity high school coach at Lewiston (2006-08), Assistant Coach at Bennett High School (2002-03), graduate Assistant Coach at University of Mobile (2001-02) and as the Assistant Coach at SUNY at New Paltz (2000-01). He has also spent the last six seasons as the AAU Coach of the Harbor Hoopsters.
The Newfane native was a four-year letterwinner at SUNY Oswego. He finished his career ranked third in steals and ninth in rebounds in the program, and was an Academic All-SUNYAC selection.
Beilein earned his bachelor’s degree in history from SUNY Oswego in 2001 and is working toward a master’s degree in sport administration at Canisius College. Beilein, his spouse Natalie, and their three children, Will, Bobby and Brooke, reside in Youngstown.
