Jason J. Cafarella
Appointed 2015 / Current term expires 2020
Jason Cafarella was appointed to the NCCC Board of Trustees by Governor Andrew Cuomo in December 2015 to fill a vacancy with a term of office expiring in 2020. He serves as the Chair of the Personnel Committee and is a member on the Board’s Finance Committee.
Cafarella is an attorney in private practice in Niagara Falls, New York, specializing in family and real estate law, as well as serving as primary counsel for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority. He is a prosecutor for the Town of Niagara. He serves on the Attorney for the Child Panel and represents children in custody and neglect cases. In addition, Cafarella is a full-time Fire Captain and has been employed with the Niagara Falls Fire Department since 2004. He also served terms as Union President and Vice President of the Niagara Falls Firefighters Local 714.
Cafarella previously served two terms on the Niagara County Legislature from 2007 through 2011.
A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Cafarella is an alumnus of Niagara County Community College, graduating in 1998 with an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from SUNY at Buffalo, and his Juris Doctorate degree from SUNY at Buffalo Law School in 2005.
Cafarella resides in Niagara Falls, NY with his wife, Nicole and their two sons.
