James Ward was appointed to the NCCC Board of Trustees by the Niagara County Legislature in 2012. He currently serves as a member of the Government Affairs Committee. Mr. Ward is also a Presidential Partner with the NCCC Foundation.
Ward recently retired as the Executive Advisor to New York State Senator Robert G. Ortt. He previously served as Executive Advisor to retired Senator George Maziarz from 1998-2015.
Ward’s prior work experience includes owning a packaging design business, serving as Town Justice in the Town of Newfane, serving eight years in the Niagara County Legislature, and a three year appointment (2004-2007) as the United States Commissioner to the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission by NYS Governor Pataki.
Ward plays an active role in the community serving as a director on a number of non-profit boards including: Eastern Niagara Hospitals, the Health Association of Niagara County, the Niagara County Community Action Program, the Niagara County Historical Society, the Town of Newfane Tourism Board, the Newfane Lions Club, the Krull-Olcott Development Committee, the Olcott Beach Community Association, and the Olcott Beach Carousel Association.
Ward has a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Bowling Green University in Ohio.
