P/T Lead Teacher

DESCRIPTION:

NCCC's Child Development Center is seeking a part time grant-funded Lead Teacher. The NCCC Child Development Center serves toddler children ages 18-36 months old. Responsibilities for teachers include but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning and preparing the learning environment
  • Individualizing infant/toddler routines
  • Facilitating curriculum goals and objectives
  • Facilitating and recording monthly observation and assessment measures for children
  • Coordinating parent and teacher conferences
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Serving meals
  • Planning and preparing involvement activities, and center recruitment

This position will be for a maximum of 30 hours per week for approximately 30 weeks (7:30 am - 1:30 pm OR 8:00 am - 2:00 pm) Monday through Friday. This is a 10 month position from late August through mid-May. Reliable transportation to and from work is an expectation. All applications meeting required qualifications will be kept on file for a one year period and reviewed should additional needs arise. Rate of Pay Commensurate based on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field; At least two years of consistent paid experience teaching in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years; Proof of certification of at least 16 hours or 4.5 continuing education units (CEUs) in infant/toddler education and/or training courses.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field; CDA Credential; BOCES Early Childhood Education graduate; state provisional or permanent teacher certification. At least two years of consistent paid experience as a lead teacher teaching in an infant/toddler classroom within the last four years.
