Women’s History Month Luncheon Held at NCCC

Niagara County Community College (NCCC) hosted the Western New York ACE Network for Women in Higher Education organization on Friday, March 7, 2014 with a luncheon and guest speaker to celebrate Women’s History Month.  Over thirty members of the organization and their guests attended the annual event held on the Sanborn Campus.

The featured speaker was Dr. Karen King, from the University of Buffalo, whose research interests include examining how gender, race, class, and popular culture impact identity development and educational opportunity.  Her presentation topic wasMedia Representations of Powerful Women.  Vonetta Rhodes, NCCC Director of the Child Development Center, welcomed guests to the luncheon and presented a poetry reading.
