CASINO BLACKJACK TRAINING
A Hands-On Course with Professional Instructors from the Seneca Niagara Casino
This 120-hour hands-on course presents dealing techniques utilized in blackjack. Instruction covers skills and methods in basic dealing techniques with an emphasis on the dexterity required in dealing procedures, the rules of rankings, and table procedures including the taking and paying of bets.
Students are instructed in card totaling, card handling/delivery, chip handling and cutting, shuffling, the shoe, accuracy, and game speed. Customer service and professionalism are emphasized at all times and periodic skills assessments are conducted during the course.
Students who successfully complete the program with a grade of 80 percent or higher are given a Table Games Dealer audition by Seneca Niagara Casino.
The casino gaming industry is highly regulated. Providing excellent customer service is of the utmost importance to the success of the industry. A Seneca Niagara Casino table games dealer is required to interact with customers in a professional and efficient manner while being astutely tuned in to all the visual, aural, and physical stimuli occurring in a fast-paced casino environment.
The following is required of an applicant:
- 18 years of age or older
- high school diploma or equivalent
- excellent customer service skills
- excellent communication skills
- excellent math skills
- ability to be fast and accurate handling cash
- ability to respond to visual and aural cues
- proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- ability to stand for several hours at a time
- successfully pass a drug test
- adhere to established rules, policies, and procedures in the casino industry
- successfully pass a background investigation and licensing investigation
