Initial Contact
The first step is up to you, the employer. Your telephone call or letter will start the process.
Analysis
Within several days of your initial contact, an NCCC Department of Corporate Training staff member
will meet with you and your staff to discuss your potential training needs and propose a program to do the job.
When an approach is agreed upon, we'll recruit an instructor to teach
the course or courses you want. Working directly with you and your staff, the
instructor will establish specific training goals and procedures. He/She will
use your ideas and information to plan a step-by-step curriculum.
Proposal
A proposal containing the specific objectives of the program, cost, meeting
times, etc. will be presented to the company for any necessary revision and
approval.
Training
The actual training schedule, class times, and locations will be determined
jointly by you, the instructor, and a representative of our administrative
staff. We recognize the importance of your production and business schedules
and take care to avoid disrupting them. Classes may be held right in your plant
or, if you wish, at NCCC's main campus in Sanborn, or at the Corporate Training
Center in Lockport.
Evaluation
When the training is completed, you'll want to know if we've met your needs.
We, too, will be anxious to know whether we've done the job right. At the conclusion
of a course or module of instruction, students will complete a course evaluation.
The evaluation instrument will have questions regarding accomplishment of course
objectives, instructional effectiveness, and a section for comments. A Course
Evaluation Report will be provided to you at the time of billing. The field
representative assigned to the project will conduct two follow-up visitations
at your site. The first visit will be 30 days after training to look for evidence
of completion of performance objective(s). The second visit will be 90 days
after training to look for evidence of completion of the productive objective.
Cost
The field representative will prepare a budget and contract course agreement.
The agreement will contain a program overview including: contact objectives,
course objectives, learning objectives and assessment tools. Non-grant proposal
developments will be provided by the College at no cost to the company. The
College's Corporate Training Department is experienced in packaging possible
funding sources in order to reduce the cost to you.
Coordination
The College wishes to develop the best training programs possible. If necessary,
we will link with other agencies to deliver programs for companies that require
more than one training source, including:
- Other Colleges
- BOCES
- Unions
- Government Agencies
- Local Schools
