Do you plan on transferring to another college when you leave NCCC?
You can transfer ANYWHERE from NCCC!
Many students transfer to another college after leaving NCCC. Whether you plan on completing a few semesters here or completing an entire certificate or degree, there are many services and options available to students to make the transfer process easy.
Many factors should be considered when choosing a transfer college. Academic program is a primary consideration but cost, location, size and campus environment are also important. To ensure maximum transfer credit, students should begin working with their faculty advisor or contact the Career & Transfer Advisor at 716-614-6216 as early as possible.
Do you know we offer different types of transfer paths?
NCCC credits transfer to almost all other colleges!
Traditional Transfer: The student applies to the other college the semester before they are ready to transfer. Some of this type of transfer is guided by articulation agreements between NCCC and the transfer college while others are guided by the SUNY Transfer Pathways, which are clearly defined transfer paths for programs on the SUNY transfer path list.
Dual Admissions: A type of articulation agreement which guarantees admission at junior-level status at a four-year college upon completion of the associate degree at NCCC. Students must meet with the Career & Transfer Advisor before completing 30 credit hours if they would like to be considered for Dual Admission. A newly expanded list of Dual Admission agreements will be available here by December 15th! Until the new agreements are posted, please contact Alissa Cummings at 716-614-6293 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
How do you know which courses transfer to meet specific requirements?
Though some colleges have course equivalency guides on their websites so you know what will transfer, students are strongly encouraged to follow up with their faculty advisor or the Career & Transfer Advisor before completing any transfer plans.
NCCC has established transfer articulation agreements with many colleges, including Bryant and Stratton College, Canisius College, Daemen College, D'Youville College, Empire State College, Franklin University, Hilbert College, Medaille College, Niagara University, SUNY College at Brockport, SUNY College at Buffalo, SUNY College at Fredonia, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, the University at Buffalo, SUNY Upstate Medical University and Utica College of Syracuse University (GOLD program available to high school seniors only). For information about transfer and an updated listing of the articulation and dual admissions agreements, contact Career & Transitional Services at 716-614-6232.
Did you know 4-Year college and university admissions advisors meet with students on NCCC's campus?
NCCC hosts a Job & Transfer Fair every semester bringing more than 40 transfer college representatives here in one day! In addition, throughout the semester, Transfer Services offers opportunities for students to meet individually with representatives from 4-year colleges and universities they are considering for transfer. Students should bring an unofficial copy of their transcript and any questions they have to the meeting, including this list of commonly asked questions. All appointments are currently held in Student Development (Room A-131). Schedule a meeting with a representative from the colleges below:
