Facilities The Fine Arts Department has several spacious and well-equipped studios. Drawing, Design, Painting and Ceramics studios are illustrated below. A Photography studio and Art History classrooms are also part of the department.
Art Gallery
The Art Gallery is centrally located in the NCCC campus, directly off the main entrance to the D building. Artists and designers from Western New York, including Joyce Marks, William Y. Cooper, Michael Parker, Barbara Rowe and John Opera, have exhibited artwork in solo and group shows. A student exhibit is held each semester and includes exemplary student works in each of the Fine Arts areas. Career Opportunities
The Fine Arts Associate in Science degree program will give students the opportunity to transfer to an upper level institution to pursue the following career opportunities:
Alumni
Graduates of the Fine Arts Degree program have pursued a variety of careers. David Heisner, pictured above, is an industrial designer. He is seen here
talking to NCCC students about his studies at Pratt in NYC and showing his portfolio. David designs various products for commercial and residential use.
His portfolio was the subject of high interest by the foundation students.
Matt Strong graduated from NCCC in 1995 and went on to study at Pratt Institute. He works for SME Power Branding/SFX Entertainment in New York City.
His position involves condeptual and design work from logo through implementation of all print programs. He is also resposible for overseeing junior and
freelance designers as well as management and design of entire branding systems.
Examples of Matt's work includes the NBA.com mark which is a version of the NBA.com TV logo. The logos are painted on basketball courts, used in print and television material and embroidered on apparel. The Census poster is an example of a class project completed in Matt's senior year at Pratt Institute.
