There are many ways to support scholarships at NCCC such as:
- Creating endowed scholarships
- Contributing to scholarship funds that align with your values
- Legacy giving
- Participation in events such as the Annual Scholarship Gala and alumni events
Since 1980, NCCC friends have established endowed scholarships to benefit students pursuing their higher education goals through Niagara’s community college. Endowments provide donors with the capability of “Touching Lives & Building Futures” for students, their families and the community. While at the same time the endowment’s returns assure there are funds to award that perpetuate for many years to come. The entire scholarship endowment has reached more than $2.6 million, with more than 50 scholarship funds.
Criteria for Scholarship Award
Donors choose the criteria and purpose of the scholarship with consultation from the NCCC Foundation. Scholarships can be named in memory of a loved one or student. Specific disciplines of study can be selected for the scholarship award. The most admired scholarships by NCCC students are those open to all, enabling the most diverse group of students to benefit from a scholarship award. Depending on the contribution amount, naming ability for on-campus buildings, rooms, and focal points can be secured.
Do you see a scholarship that is offered to NCCC students that really resonates with your values? Make a donation to help grow that scholarship fund. You can even make a donation in honor of a loved one.
A legacy gift to benefit the NCCC Foundation will help ensure excellence in education through the advancement of academic, cultural and social experiences long after your lifetime. By taking the time to plan what you wish to do with your assets you can pass along the values that have guided your life. Take the time to document your assets, secure the assistance of advisors and plan to leave a legacy by making a list of beneficiaries.
The NCCC Foundation hosts their Annual Scholarship Gala every October. You can support the scholarship program at NCCC by attending or sponsoring the event. In addition, the NCCC Alumni Association also hosts various events such as Wingstock and the 5K Run Walk which also support student scholarships at NCCC.
