PHYSICAL EDUCATION STUDIES:
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS


Apply under SUNY Code #1485. Students admitted in September and January. Because of the sequencing of courses, it may take more than four semesters of full-time study if a student begins this program in a spring semester.

Minimum Degree Requirements (LT01):
You must complete a total of at least 64 credit hours with a minimum Curriculum Grade Point Average of 2.0. Foundations courses do not count toward the degree.

Any student interested in dual admission, 2+2, or transfer requirements, can obtain the articulation agreement breakdown from the NCCC Academic Advisement Center. NCCC's PES program currently offers articulation agreements with:
  1. State University College at Brockport
  2. Canisius College
  3. State University College at Cortland
  4. Sage College of Albany
Agreements with these upper institutions guarantee transfer into the Physical Education curriculum at par with 3rd-year students at the above institutions.



SCHOLARSHIPS

The Dolce-Valvo scholarship is a program-specific scholarship for any student applying to the Physical Education Studies (PES) program at NCCC. The following guidelines apply:
  1. Applicant must have accumulated 12-15 hours in HPE program.
  2. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  3. Demonstrated financial need may be a determining factor in awarding this scholarship.
This scholarship was established in 1991 by Kathy Dolce, a Professor Health and Physical Education at NCCC and her sister, Jean Doctor. They established the scholarship as a way to thank their parents, who were strong advocates of education, for providing them with the opportunity to obtain an education.

Amount: $250

Number Offered: 1 per year

Procedure to Apply: Complete the application and essay found in the scholarship handbook.

All matriculated students in this curriculum are eligible for other scholarships also.
