A Reference Librarian is on duty during all hours that the Library is open. We provide answers to the NCCC college community, as well as to Niagara County residents who request our help. We pride ourselves on approachability and high quality service.

The Reference/Information Desk is on the 2nd (Main) floor of the Library, along with the Reference Collection. You may contact us at 716.614.6786.

Electronic Mail Reference Service

NCCC students, faculty, and staff can send an electronic message to librarians at the reference desk and receive answers to simple straightforward questions such as:
  • Who is the governor of Mississippi?
  • Where was Hillary Clinton born?
  • How do you convert temperatures from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
  • When was the Seven Years' War?
REFDESK is an NCCC username. Simply send an electronic message addressed to
refdesk@niagaracc.suny.edu to receive answers to simple reference questions by e-mail sometime during the next business day.

24/7 Reference Services

The Library Learning Center participates in "Ask us 24/7" reference services. You can click on this icon from the Library Home Page and "chat" with and interact live with a reference librarian online. These are not necessarily NCCC librarians (although we do participate a few hours a week) but a collective group of librarians from around the country who monitor this program.
