Annable Named Director of Security
SANBORN, N.Y. (Aug. 6) — Niagara County Community College announced that W. Ross Annable has been named Director of Security.
Annable comes to NCCC with a wealth of security knowledge and experience. A police officer since 1977, he is the Village of Barker Police Chief where he is responsible for administration of the department, supervision of seven officers, and providing police services for the Town of Somerset.
Annable joined the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department in 1978 as the deputy sheriff. As a member of the department, he was assigned to the speakers forum in 1980, was the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator for Niagara County in 1982, and an instructor of general police topics at the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy in 1987.
From 1990 to 1995, Annable was the sergeant of the department’s patrol division and then was appointed Commander of the Sheriff’s Ceremonial Guard and Rifle Team in 1991. From 1995 to 2001, he was the Director of Community Services and from 2002 to 2006 a patrol sergeant.
Prior to becoming police chief of Barker, Annable was a part-time corporate security guard from 2005 to 2008.
Annable earned his associate degree in criminal justice from Genesee Community College.
