{ Barnes & Noble to Run NCCC Bookstore }

SANBORN, N.Y. (June 8) — Niagara County Community College President Dr. James P. Klyczek announced today that Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, Inc., will assume management of its bookstore and store website, niagaracc.bncollege.com, on the Sanborn campus on June 16.

This change brings a number of benefits to the campus. Students will be able to buy books at the same time they register for classes – saving time and ensuring they have the right book in hand when classes start – by using a link attached to the registration page on NCCC’s official website. niagaracc.bncollege.com will offer faculty an online adoption process that will include lists of books used in previous terms. It also gives faculty access to a textbook database with usage histories, reviews, and synopses of more than 500,000 titles.

Tapping into years of experience in the college bookstore industry, Barnes & Noble will provide NCCC students with the largest possible selection of lower-cost used and digital textbooks, plus a host of new products and services, including gifts and NCCC clothing, as well as school supplies, computer software, and reference materials. Additionally, Barnes & Noble will offer positions in its management-training program to qualified student booksellers with an interest in growing with the company.

As well as operating the Sanborn campus bookstore, Barnes & Noble will open and operate the NCCC Culinary Bookstore and retail shop as part of the Hospitality & Tourism Center in downtown Niagara Falls.

Based in Basking Ridge, N.J., Barnes & Noble College Booksellers is a privately-held sister company to Barnes & Noble, Inc., the nation’s largest bookseller. Currently, it operates almost 700 campus bookstores across America at locations including the University of Chicago, Ohio State University, Northwestern University, Penn State University, Texas A&M University, Yale University and Harvard University.

Created in 1962 and opening the contemporary campus in 1973, NCCC’s broad mission to provide a teaching and learning environment dedicated to excellence engages over 6,600 diverse students. Located in Sanborn, N.Y., the college is one of 30 locally-sponsored, two-year colleges under the State University of New York. NCCC is centrally located in Niagara County on a beautiful 250-acre rural campus, just minutes from Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and the Canadian border.
