Baking and Pastry Arts Table Wins Best Table

SANBORN, N.Y. — The Niagara County Community College Baking and Pastry Arts program bakingwas honored April 26 as the best table at the third annual American Culinary Federation of Greater Buffalo Taste of Culinary fundraiser at the Statler Towers.

With over 40 chefs from area clubs, hotels and schools, the NCCC students garnered the most votes from over 300 attendees at the event.

NCCC instructor and certified executive pastry chef Maria Iacovitti worked with nine students during the course of the semester to prepare truffles, cheese cake, fruit tarts, peanut butter balls and lemon chello triffle for the event. The NCCC booth also showcased a variety of cakes that the students created.
