The award is the most prestigious scholarship offered by the NCCC Foundation to an incoming freshman and provides two years of tuition-free education. The students were selected based on their academic excellence, service to the community, ability to define goals and execute them with a strong follow up.
“By receiving the distinguished student scholarship, I am guaranteed a better future. I won’t have to worry about tuition and I can save money to finish my four-year degree with less financial obligations when I graduate from NCCC,” McDaniel said.
In the past year, nearly $200,000 in scholarships has been awarded to deserving students through the NCCC Foundation. The annual Scholarship Gala is the single largest fund-raiser for student scholarships.
“At NCCC, I hope to achieve an insight of what the rest of the future holds for me as far as my career goals to enhance my education,” Willard said.
The mission of NCCC is to help students achieve their career goals. Tickets to the Scholarship Gala are $100 per person, which includes a six-course meal prepared by the NCCC Culinary and Pastry Arts students. To purchase tickets and make reservations, call the NCCC Foundation at 716-614-5910.
