Two NCCC Faculty Have Research Article Published
SANBORN, N.Y. (Oct. 2, 2008) — Niagara County Community College Associate Professors of Psychology Kathy Gerbasi and Laura Scaletta along with three former NCCC students had their research article “Furries from A to Z (Anthropomorphism to Zoomorphism)” published in the latest version of the peer-reviewed journal Society and Animals.
Furries are humans who enjoy anthropomorphic art (cartoon characters) and some Furries dress-up in mascot-like costumes called fursuits. The research contrasts the stereotypical media view of Furries with actual data collected from Furries.
The article appears to be the first in the peer-reviewed literature, which actually collected data from Furries.
