NCCC Upgrades Recycling Program

SANBORN, N.Y. (Feb. 3)  — Niagara County Community College announced today that it has made upgrades to it recycling program with the hiring of METRO Waste Paper Recovery Inc. out of Depew.

“METRO Waste specializes in recycling paper and cardboard because its parent company is a paper manufacturer. Our recycling can now be considered full-circle recycling,” James Lobdell, Assistant Director of Facilities said.

The upgraded recycling of the paper/cardboard will save NCCC approximately $2,500 per year in direct costs and the College could realize an additional rebate of between $2,400 and $6,000 per year.

“In addition to the paper and cardboard recycling, all of our confidential document destruction will now be shredded on-campus, hauled away and we will receive certification that the documents have been destroyed,” Lobdell continued.

NCCC will also receive 40 95-gallon recycling bins that will be strategically located around campus to encourage students, staff, faculty and administrators to recycle.
