NCCC’s VP Bassam Deeb to Join SUNY Delegation to China

The Chinese Government has invited a delegation of SUNY leaders to China this December 27, 2009 - January 10, 2010.  Bassam Deeb, who has served as the Vice President for Student Services at Niagara County Community College since 2004, will join 22 other SUNY campus representatives and 3 members of the SUNY Central Administration staff on this 14-day visit.

Hanban, a non-profit public institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education, will host and coordinate this two-week visit where members of the delegation will focus on developing educational exchange and mutual understanding of the American and Chinese education systems of higher education.  The SUNY delegation is expected to spend time in Beijing, Chengdu, and Chongqing.

NCCC is excited about having a member of its administrative staff selected for this delegation.  This will now position Niagara County Community College to have its faculty and students benefit from future international exchange opportunities under SUNY’s global initiative.
