NCCC Remembers its Past and Launches

Revolution NTrip Reunion Activities in March

SANBORN, NY (March 1, 2010) —The NCCC Alumni Association is hosting a Shredded Wheat Breakfast at the Sanborn campus on March 26 at 8 a.m. to kick-off the Revolution NTrip Reunion in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the college’s first graduating class, announced Distinguished Alumnus William Paterson, who was one of the graduates from the class of 1965.  The significance of shredded wheat dates back to NCCC’s initial campus that was located in downtown Niagara Falls in the former Nabisco building and was referred to as “Nabisco Tech.”

“More than 33,000 alumni have graduated from NCCC and we are encouraging as many as possible to attend the Shredded Wheat Breakfast, especially those who attended the Nabisco Tech site through the early 1970’s,” said Paterson, a Niagara Falls resident.  The complimentary breakfast will highlight the history of NCCC and reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Following the Shredded Wheat Breakfast, the Alumni Association has partnered with the NCCC Student Development Office to host a career mentoring and networking event called “Hungry for a J.O.B.?” for NCCC students and alumni.  Current students will have a chance to network and be mentored by NCCC alumni who work in various fields in the job force. Alumni mentors will differ in professions from dentists, to detectives, to wedding planners to share their experiences and give career advice to future graduates who will soon be searching for a job.

Revolution NTrip Reunion events will also include “Karaoke at Building M” also known as the Marlboro Inn on Ward Road, March 26 at 5:30 p.m., and “Theatre, Culinary & Cordials” featuring a student performance of “Barefoot in the Park” at NCCC on March 27 at 8 p.m.  Other reunion events set to take place include “Wingstock” at the Rapids Theater in Niagara Falls on June 5 and an “Alumni Uncorked Wine Tour” through the Niagara Wine trail on June 6.
