Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly to be NCCC

Commencement Speaker May 15th

NCCC President James P. Klyczek today announced that former Buffalo Bill and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly will be the featured speaker at the May 15th Niagara County Community College Commencement ceremony. “Jim Kelly obviously had a distinguished career on the football field, but his tremendous charitable work, specifically for the Hunter’s Hope Foundation and Kelly for Kids, make him a great example for all us, especially the graduates of NCCC,” said President Klyczek.

Jim Kelly was the starting quarterback for eleven seasons for the Buffalo Bills, taking the team to four consecutive Superbowls and earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002. Since his playing days with the Buffalo Bills, Jim Kelly has toured the country as an advocate for newborn health screening through the Hunter’s Hope Foundation, named after his son Hunter who passed away in 2005. Kelly has taken his message to the nation’s capital, including the White House and has appeared before Congress speaking on the need for increased screening for newborns nationwide. Kelly has also raised four million dollars for local charities through his “Kelly for Kids” Foundation.
