Kathie Kreppenneck Wins President’s Cup Award at NCCC
Niagara County Community College President James P. Klyczek awarded Sophomore Kathie Kreppenneck the President’s Cup Award at the annual Athletics banquet held Thursday, May 6th, at the College. Kreppenneck received the top award of the evening for her outstanding career at NCCC in both volleyball and basketball.
Kathie Kreppenneck distinguished herself as a true student-athlete and leader at NCCC, maintaining an overall GPA of 3.42 and serving as a two-year captain for the volleyball team and a contributing athlete on the women’s basketball team in 2008-09. Kreppenneck finished her 2 year volleyball career with 1,671 assists, ranking in the top 10 in nationally and was 2nd team all-conference and 2nd team all–region. Kathie was also MVP of the women’s volleyball team this year which finished 4th in the nation.
Inducted on to the Niagara County Community College Athletic Wall of Fame were:
Sheri Brooks for her outstanding career in women’s basketball, softball and soccer at NCCC.
In 1998, Sheri won the NCCC Coach’s Award for softball. Sheri was an NJCAA Academic All-American with a GPA of 3.95. Also in 1999, Sheri was the President’s Cup winner for her contributions and achievements on the softball, basketball and soccer teams.
Donna Jean Crum for softball. Donna played in 1989-90 and was captain of the softball team in 1990. Crum was a Western New York All-Conference recipient and in 1990 received the President’s Cup Award for her contributions and achievements on the softball team. Donna was the Niagara County Community College athletic trainer from 1996-2004.
Jonathan Hoover, wrestling. In both the 1994 and 1995 seasons Jonathan was a big part of the wrestling team winning the Region III Championship both years at the 167 pound weight class. In 1994, Jonathan was an NJCAA All-American and went undefeated in Region III for his career. Jon was named Male Athlete of the Year for Region III in 1995 and was inducted into the Region III Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2003 Jon was inducted into the Niagara County Community College Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Presented to Eric Knuutila and the NCCC wrestling team for their 12th Western New York Conference Championship and their 16th Regional Championship.
Presented to: Shay Shive for setting five NCCC team wrestling records.
Presented to: Chris Gruarin for tying the single game homerun record with 3 homeruns hit against Erie CC on April 29, 2010.
