The Dolce Valvo Art Center to Present a Mixed Media Installation: Vulnerability and the Child Within

The Dolce Valvo Art Center at Niagara County Community College will present “Vulnerability and the Child Within”, a mixed media installation by local artist Gary Wolfe, January 26 – February 23, 2012 on the Sanborn campus of the college.
Artist Gary Wolfe earned undergraduate degrees in Christian Ministries from Houghton College and in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. While working for local government in planning, developing and delivering health and human services to persons in need, Gary began producing and publicly showing his artwork with encouraging success. This ultimately led to a return to school and the completion of a Master’s Degree in Painting and Art History from the University of Buffalo. Gary’s work has been shown in Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Ann Arbor, Buffalo, Rochester and other cities in the Northeast. Gary is the current president of the Buffalo Society of Artists and lives and works in Western New York.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 5 – 8 pm, in the Dolce Valvo Art Center. An artist talk will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 12:15 pm, also in the Art Center.
The Dolce Valvo Art Center has been part of NCCC since the Sanborn campus opened in 1973 and is currently located near the Lewis Library in “D” Building. The Art Center is open Monday & Tuesday from 12 to 5 pm, Wednesday & Thursday from 12 to 8 pm, Friday 12–3 pm and Sat 12 –2 pm.
