Substitute/Waiver Courses

Under certain circumstances, you may be granted a waiver of a required course. When this occurs, you must take a substitute course to fulfill the minimum number of credit hours required for your curriculum. The waiver does not reduce the credit hours required for graduation but changes the specific distribution of the hours in the curriculum affected by the request. You should discuss this option with your advisor or division chairperson. If a decision is made to waiver a specific course, you must obtain the necessary form in the Registration & Records Office (A201). In addition to your signature, you must also obtain your advisor’s signature and the division chairperson's signature.
