{ NCCC's Jamieson Honored with Two National Awards }

SANBORN, N.Y. (June 4, 2009) — Niagara County Community College sophomore Sean Jamieson (Simcoe, Ont.) was honored today with the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Rawlings Gold Glove Award and as the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Easton Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Jamieson, who helped the Trailblazer baseball team to the program’s first-ever NJCAA College World Series last month, posted a .976 fielding percentage as NCCC’s shortstop. The team captain collected 98 putouts and 118 assists while committing five errors this season.

The future Canisius College Golden Griffin was also an All-Region 3 selection this season, and finished the year with a .401 batting average with 32 RBI and 17 stolen bases.
