New Student Orientation

Welcome to Niagara County Community College!

Please join us for New Student Orientation on August 27th! Check and Student Services Informational Tables start at 4pm! Event Starts promptly at 5pm.

The New Student Orientation program will help new, re-admit and transfer students successfully transition into the NCCC community. This event will define student expectations unique to the academic and co-curricular environments of a community college while providing a sense of belonging and inclusion to help foster a commitment to student success!

*Please note this orientation is for Sanborn Campus students!*

 Orientation Day 1 Thursday, August 27th

* All Students may attend, MANDATORY FOR HOUSING STUDENTS*

4pm - 5pm- Check In and Information Tables/ Bookstore Event- H Building Lobby and Main Gym

Check in will take place in the H Building lobby (Athletics) and the Bookstore Event will take place inside the Barnes and Noble book store in G Building (Student Center).

5pm – 5:30pm: Welcome and Introduction to NCCC: Fine Arts Auditorium

In this interactive welcome session, students and parents will learn the need to know information for having a successful and engaging experience at NCCC. Our goal in this quick 30 minute session is to make sure students and parents are well informed as well as feel a part of the NCCC “Wolf Pack” community.

5:30pm – 6:00pm: Walk Your Schedule Tours with the Orientation At this time, our Student Orientation Leaders will take student groups on tours of the NCCC Sanborn Campus.

At this time, Orientation Leaders will help guide students around to find their classrooms and the best routes to those rooms! Orientation Leaders will also point out important spots and stops on campus that will be important to the students during their first few weeks here at NCCC as well as answer any last minute questions students or parents may have.

5:30pm – 6:30pm: Parent Orientation: Fine Arts Auditorium  

While your son or daughter is taking a tour around the campus, we invite all parents (and the rest of your family!) to join us in the auditorium, located in the Fine Arts wing (F Building). This will be an information session for all parents covering various topics that you, as a parent, might find important and useful during your child’s time as a student here at NCCC!

6pm – 9pm: Welcome BBQ Extravaganza and Activities Fair! Enjoy the rest of your evening socializing with other students, parents, faculty and staff by taking part in our annual Welcome Extravaganza located on the G Building lawn right outside of the Student Center. Kick off your NCCC experience with a showcase of some of the fun things Student Life sponsors on campus year round. Enjoy food from a local Buffalo food truck, inflatables and lawn games, as well as get information on  Clubs and organizations!

Orientation Day 2 Friday, August 28th

* All Students may attend, MANDATORY FOR HOUSING STUDENTS*

8:40am-9am                        Free Breakfast in the Bookstore

9:10am– 10:00am                 NCCC Online Services 101 & Learning Commons Tour

10:00am – 10:50am               Student Success Workshop & Campus Safety                             

11:00am – 11:50am               Student Success Workshop & Campus Safety

*Concurrent Sessions in Fine Arts Auditorium and Learning Commons*

12:00pm – 2:00pm     Lunch, Informational Tables, Networking Event, and Auction – All located outside of the Student Center on the G Building lawn!

Additional Information:

  • Students may bring one guest that is important to academic career and can register them when registering for orientation.
  • Students may sure you bring your Student ID, Banner sign in information ( @ number and PIN) and class schedule to walk your schedule!
