Computer Training

Computer skills are increasingly the foundation of an efficient, productive workforce. NCCC offers several affordable, high quality computer classes to enhance your employee's computer skills.

All classes are held at the NCCC Department of Corporate Training Center located at 50 Main Street, Lockport, New York 14094. In addition, classes can be scheduled at your facility (computer lab required) or at the following NCCC satellite locations: Niagara Falls, Wheatfield, Sanborn, & Medina.

MICROSOFT WORD 2003 (12 HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO WORD - Document basics such as creating and navigating documents, selecting, editing, and formatting techniques, inserting symbols, creating flyers, tabs, working with tables, printing and saving documents.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class or experience using Windows)

INTERMEDIATE WORD - Working with drawing objects, creating diagrams, inserting section breaks, creating newsletters using clipart and columns. Creating and modifying styles, creating manuals, table of contents and indexes.
(Prerequisite: Intro to Word class or experience using Word)

ADVANCED WORD - Mail Merge, advanced table techniques, Excel Integration, comments, track changes, creating multiple versions of a document, macros, protecting documents and forms.
(Prerequisite: Intermediate Word class)


MICROSOFT EXCEL 2003(12 HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL - Worksheet basics, entering data and text, selecting, editing, and formatting cells, copy, paste, and fill techniques, basic formulas and functions, working with dates using calculations, printing and chart basics.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class or experience using Windows)

INTERMEDIATE EXCEL - Large worksheet techniques, sorting, multiple worksheet views, printing options, templates, Wordart, clipart, linking data between sheets, range names, Excel database functions, searching data, financial functions, PivotTables, and PivotCharts.
(Prerequisite: Intro to Excel class)

ADVANCED EXCEL - Lookup functions, custom templates, basic macros, building scenario sheets, consolidate data, If functions, comments, hyperlinks, importing data from other sources and tracing changes.
(Prerequisite: Intermediate Excel class)


MICROSOFT ACCESS 2003(12-HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO ACCESS - Opening and closing a database, opening and closing tables, creating and editing tables, primary key, fields (adding, moving, and deleting), records (adding, editing, sorting), working with forms and reports, and creating queries.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class, experience using Windows program, or other Office programs is highly recommended)

INTERMEDIATE ACCESS - Customizing forms, advanced controls(drop down lists and combo boxes), creating subforms, calculations in forms and reports, importing data from outside sources, grouping data in reports, charts, creating a switchboard form using macros and buttons, linking access table with a form letter (mail merge).
(Prerequisite: Intro to Access class)


MICROSOFT POWERPOINT 2003(6 HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT (6 hour class) - Slide preparation and design, bullets, adding and deleting slides, rearranging slides, AutoContent Wizard, running slide shows, working with slide outline view, printing, ClipArt, WordArt, create transitions, timings, sounds and animation, text boxes, and delivery.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class or experience using Windows)

INTERMEDIATE POWERPOINT (6 hour class) - Working with charts, tables, organizational charts, online presentations compare and merge presentations, creating templates, program buttons, hyperlinks and on road presentation discussion.
(Prerequisite: Intro to PowerPoint class)


MICROSOFT PROJECT 2003(6-HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT - Create a project plan file containing tasks, organize these tasks in a work breakdown structure containing task relationships, create and assign resources, and finalize the project in order to implement the project plan.
(Prerequisite: An understanding of project management concepts, knowledge of a Windows operating system, basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is highly recommended)




MICROSOFT WORD 2007 - Classes are 12 hours unless specified

UPDATE (6 hour class) - Learn what has changed in Word 2007.

INTRODUCTION TO WORD - Worksheet basics, entering data and text, selecting, editing, and formatting cells, copy, paste, and fill techniques, basic formulas and functions, printing and chart basics.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class or experience using Windows)

INTERMEDIATE WORD - Working with tables, Creating a newsletter, navigating long documents, clipart, columns, creating and modifying styles, text flow options, using tools to create research papers.
(Prerequisite: Intro to Word class or experience using Word)

ADVANCED WORD - Creating manuals, creating table of contents and indexes, comments, track changes, creating multiple versions of a document, macros, and forms, preparing documents for sharing, protecting and controlling access to documents, Excel Integration, and exporting word documents into other applications.
(Prerequisite: Intermediate Word class)


MICROSOFT EXCEL 2007 - Classes are 12 hours unless specified

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT 2007(6 HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT (6 hour class) - Slide preparation and design, bullets, adding and deleting slides, rearranging slides, running slide shows, working with slide outline view, printing, ClipArt, WordArt, sounds and animation, diagrams, charts and delivering the slide show.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class or experience using Windows)

INTERMEDIATE POWERPOINT (6 hour class) - Advanced presentation skills, spell checker, find and replace, Working with charts, tables, slide themes, master slides, movies, sounds, rehearse timings, creating templates, and program buttons.
(Prerequisite: Intro to PowerPoint class)

ADVANCED POWERPOINT (6 hour class) - Online presentations, online collaboration, transporting presentations, and integrating with other office programs.
(Prerequisite: Intermediate PowerPoint class)


MICROSOFT ACCESS 2007(6 HOUR CLASS)

UPDATE (6 hour class) - Learn what has changed in Access 2007.

ADVANCED ACCESS (6 hour class) - Advanced database techniques, select queries, calculations in queries, action queries, creating subforms, lock out controls in forms, creating subreports in main reports, creating calculated controls in a report, customize security, integrating Access with other applications.
(Prerequisite: Intermediate Access class)


MICROSOFT PUBLISHER 2007(6-HOUR CLASS)

INTRODUCTION TO PUBLISHER - Creating flyers, saving, printing, text boxes, bullets, working with clipart, drawing shapes, inserting text from Word, and E-mail publications.
(Prerequisite: Current Windows class, experience using Windows program, or other Office programs is highly recommended)

INTERMEDIATE PUBLISHER - Creating business publications, business cards, creating a newsletter, using publisher for mail merge, creating tables, working with tabs, and planning a web site.
(Prerequisite: Intro to Publisher class)
