Music, Certificate

Overview

The Music certificate program is designed for those who wish to develop their musicianship and explore an academic program in music. It provides students the opportunity to assess their musical skills and explore the College learning environment. The program offers practical application in music composition, ear-training, sight-singing, and basic piano skills, and develops an understanding of Western Art Music as well as American popular music. Courses offer a hands-on approach to writing, understanding, and demonstrating concepts in music and the experience of college-level academic course work.

Alumni Spotlight

Amanda Moran ’20

“What I like most about the Music, Certificate program is how welcoming it is to people who do not have an abundant background when it comes to music. My deciding factor in choosing SUNY Niagara is the manageable class sizes. My advice to a student interested in attending SUNY Niagara is to make sure you learn how to manage your time well, and make sure you invest in activities you enjoy. I am continuing my education at SUNY Niagara for a degree in music.”
