Registered Nursing Program receives National Accreditation
The SUNY Niagara Registered Nursing Program announced in August that they had been granted continuing accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). They received a full eight year award, with the next scheduled evaluation in the spring of 2026. Diane Roth, the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for Nursing and Allied Health noted, “The faculty and staff have put forth outstanding efforts in working together to ensure a successful self-study report and on-site accreditation visit. This continuing accreditation award confirms that the nursing program at SUNY Niagara is dedicated to excellence in nursing education.”
The Registered Nursing program at SUNY Niagara was established in 1965, and has been accredited by the ACEN since 1976. This 68 credit-hour program is also recognized by the State Education Department. With the guidance of exceptional staff, including SUNY Distinguished Professor, Dr. Julie Woodworth, students leave the SUNY Niagara RN program prepared for success in the field. Graduates of the program are eligible to start their nursing career upon completion of the licensing examination, or continue to a B.S. in nursing and further education.
