Service with a Slice
This program is offered once a month to encourage community service initiatives throughout the student body. Student Life provides the materials to create the service project. Each service project is then donated to a local agency. Once students finish their service project they receive a piece of pizza. Beneficiary agencies include:
- 10 Lives Club, Tabby Town Adoption Center – kitten/cat blankets
- Adopt a Platoon (located in Texas) – homemade holiday cards
- Elderwood (assisted living facility) – Grip Socks (decorated the bottom of socks with puffy paint)
- Immaculata Home (all women homeless shelter) and Lockport Cares (homeless shelter) – toiletry bags
- Passage House (domestic violence shelter) and Casey House (teen shelter) – toiletry bags (filled with shampoo, conditioner, soap, brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.)
- Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Research Center – Chemo Kits
- SPCA Niagara – dog toys
In total for the academic year of 2018-2019, 575 students participated to complete 700 service projects.
