Supplement

There are many websites that might supplement the services we offer on-site at SUNY Niagara. Some are set up like traditional employment and career information sites while others are social networking sites with employment components:

Interview appearance and attire: Dressing for Success

http://www.careeronestop.org/ is sponsored by the US Department of Labor. “Your pathway to career success. Tools to help job seekers, students, businesses, and career professionals.”

www.gradtogreat.com provides job search guidance (when and how) and cover letter and resume samples.

Job Express at www.labor.ny.gov/jobs/regional.shtm is sponsored by the NYS Department of Labor.  This site allows the job seeker to view current job openings in New York’s 10 regional economies.  Users can view opportunities in the region they live in, identify which industries are growing, and find out about available jobs.

www.insidecareerinfo.com is a searchable collection of hundreds of candid career reports written by successful professionals who are actually doing the job. The career reviews are intended to assist people in finding careers which are a good fit for them. The site features pros and cons of specific careers. You can even rate a career based on what you read!

www.jobstar.org offers local job postings, career guides, resume information and samples, and web links.

www.linkedin.com is the world’s largest professional network with over 120 million members. LinkedIn connects you to your trusted contacts and helps you exchange knowledge, ideas, and opportunities with a broader network of professionals.
