The new 2024–25 FAFSA® Form Will Be Available in December 2023

Dear Parent,

For students who plan to attend college or career/trade school between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) processes and system will be getting big updates. This includes a new and improved FAFSA experience for students and families. As a result, the updated FAFSA form will be available in December 2023. We’ll reach out to you when the form is available for you to complete and submit.

Stay informed about changes by opting into SMS message alerts, and take steps now to help you prepare to submit your form. Remember, your child needs to complete a FAFSA form every year they are enrolled in school to receive federal student aid.

Updates to the 2024–25 FAFSA® Experience

We’re making big changes to the 2024–25 FAFSA® form to create a better experience for students and families. These changes include

  • expanded eligibility for federal student aid,
  • a more streamlined application process, and
  • a better user experience for the FAFSA form.

Prepare for the 2024–25 FAFSA® Form

  • Watch for emails from the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid to make sure you don’t miss important updates.
  • Opt in to SMS messages by logging into your StudentAid.gov account to receive up-to-date notifications and information.
  • Follow Federal Student Aid on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for announcements and resources.

Federal Work Study Program

The Federal Work Study Program provides part-time on and off campus job opportunities to students who demonstrate financial need and are awarded funds as part of their Financial Aid package.
