Fitness Center

Administrators

Administrators – (Titles include: President, VP’s, Asst. VP’s, Directors, Associate Directors, Asst. Directors, Asst. to the President, Asst. to the VP, and others)

Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • May carry over a maximum of 30 days annually (August to September). Not available for grant-funded administrators.

  • At time of resignation or retirement, paid for max of 30 days of unused PTO. Not available for grant-funded administrators.

Sick Time

  • Earn 1 sick day per month to a maximum of 229 days.
  • May sell back up to 12 unused sick days at the rate of 1 day for 6 in August of each year. Must maintain a minimum of 115 unused sick days.
  • Entitled to payment of 1 day for each 4 unused sick days upon retirement (must be at least age 55 and have 10 years of service). Not available for grant-funded administrators.

Health Insurance

  • Two plan options to Highmark POS 200 or Independent Health.
  • Eligible for health insurance on the first day of the month following hire date.
  • Employee is responsible for 16% of the cost for family/single coverage.

Health Insurance Waiver

May waive health insurance from college and receive 15% of premium for lowest cost HMO as of September of that year. Payment made on or around May 1st.

Health Reimbursement (HRA) and/or Flex 125 Account

  • College contributes $1,500 to HRA if eligible for family health plan, $1,250 if eligible for single health plan. Can be utilized for health insurance premium, health care or dependent care expenses.
  • May add to Section 125 Flexible Spending Account with own money on pre-tax basis, max. $2,850 for out of pocket health care expenses, $5,000 for dependent care expenses.

Retirement Systems

  • NYS ERS (Employees’ Retirement System-defined benefit plan) or SUNY ORP (Optional Retirement Plan-defined contribution plan)
  • President & Vice Presidents may also join NYS TRS (Teachers’ Retirement System).
  • May also contribute to tax sheltered retirement savings account (403(b) or 457(b) plans), no employer contribution.

Life/Disability Insurance

  • 2 x salary raised to next multiple of $1,000. For grant-funded administrators: 1 x salary, benefit capped at $50,000.
  • Long Term Disability coverage after completion of one year of service.

Professional Memberships

  • VP’s $500 per year
  • All others $250 per year

Tuition Reimbursement Program

  • Upon meeting the established conditions, the following reimbursements are available:
    • Undergraduate degree courses: up to $300 per credit hour
    • Graduate degree courses: up to $470 per credit hour

FASUNY Niagara

Faculty Association of SUNY Niagara (FASUNY Niagara) – (Includes members of the college’s Academic Staff, Non-ranked professional, para-professional, and non-credit professional staff.)

Vacation

12 Month Faculty members are awarded 25 vacation days annually on 9/1 (prorated if hired mid-year), can carry over a maximum of 10 unused vacation days each year.

  • 10-month Faculty members are not awarded vacation days.

Personal Days

3 personal days after a 90-day introductory period. Unused personal days will roll into sick balance.

Comp Time

Technical Assistants may earn up to 35 compensatory hours, and an additional 77 compensatory hours for the 11 Fridays off in the summer.

Sick Time

Earn 1.20 sick days per month (14.4 days per year), up to a maximum of 229 days.

Health Insurance

  • Eligible for health insurance on the first day of the first full month upon hire.
  • The Highmark POS 200 Plan is the only plan option for enrollment
  • Employee is responsible for 16% of the cost of family/single coverage.

Professional Memberships

$35 for each faculty member for membership dues in related academic and professional organizations.

Credit Courses at SUNY Niagara

Shall be allowed to enroll in for-credit courses without charge to a maximum of 3 credit hours per semester (maximum 6 credit hours per year) on a seats available basis.

ESPA

Educational Support Personnel Association (ESPA) – (Titles include but are not limited to: typist, campus security/peace officer, stenographer, clerk(s), computer programmer, public relations assistant, multilift machine operator.)

Employees who work at least 17.5 hours per week are eligible for the following benefits:

Health Reimbursement Account
  • College will contribute $150 (single coverage) or $250 (family coverage) to HRA funds for all regular full-time non-probationary employees on 9/1 of each year.
Health Insurance Waiver
  • May waive health insurance from college and receive a waiver benefit of $700 for single coverage or $1,400 for family coverage paid at the college contribution rate (75% or 90%). Payment made on or about May 1st.
Flex 125 Account
  • May enroll in pre-tax Section 125 Flexible Spending Account (no college contribution), max. $2,850/year for out of pocket medical expenses, max. $5000 for dependent care expenses.
