Interested SUNY Niagara faculty are eligible to attend this conference. The registration cost will be paid by SUNY Niagara. Please register through the link below and submit the voucher (located on the PD website) to Academic Affairs for reimbursement.

Description: Educators from across the United States and Canada who can contribute their experience and expertise with active and integrative learning within individual courses, curricula, or programs, and discuss how it is best encouraged and assessed, are invited to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and posters.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Chris Hakala, Professor of Psychology and the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship at Springfield College. The focus of the talk will be on the Science of Learning and how this translates to best practices in the classroom.

Intended for coordinators, directors, supervisors, and governance leaders...or anyone who has a need to share information internally within SUNY Niagara! You will build a site as we work. If you email fescobar@niagaracc.suny.edu we will build a template for your site prior to the session. Then you will work within it to upload material and start sharing. This session will study the assessment process in regards to General Education utilizing the data collected from Basic Communications and US History & Civic Engagement. Everyone is encouraged to attend regardless of topics areas as it is a study of the process and expected outcomes.

This presentation and conversation will cover common mental health issues our students are facing and how faculty and staff can best support them. The session will also discuss student-in-crisis protocol and what to do if you have general concerns about a student’s mental health.
