Abigail Bree Bacon

Agriculture Specialist

Bree joined SBDC in November 2015 and focuses on assisting rural, agricultural, and specialty food business clients. She is also co-owner of a 6-generation vegetable and fruit farm in Lockport, and manager of the summer Lockport Community Market. Before joining SBDC, Bree enjoyed a varied career in business training and international development. She has coordinated business training programs for over 10,000 entrepreneurs, business owners, and civic leaders across 45 industries from Russia, and created management training projects in southern India.  She has also worked for the largest network of sustainable businesses in the U.S. and helped launch a new fund for women’s entrepreneurship and health in central California. She has a Master’s of Public Administration from Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a BA in Russian and Anthropology from Emory University.

Bree is a member of the NY Farm Bureau, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and Northeast Organic Farming Association-NY. She has presented at the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) – NY Winter Conference. She is available to speak on many agri-business and agri-tourism topics.
