The Niagara County Community College Wellness Center, the NCCC Alumni Association, Student Life, and Student Housing are partnering with SUNY’s Got Your Back to help stuff comfort bags for victims and survivors of violence.
Every day in New York, adults and children seek assistance from hospitals, rape crisis, and domestic violence shelters. Often they come in with little more than the clothes they are wearing. The money that shelters and other response organizations spend on personal care items is money that they are not spending on other crucial costs. Instead, SUNY’s Got Your Back and NCCC will fill these comfort bags with items such as toothpaste, a toothbrush, shampoo, body wash, and so much more.
The event will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 11:00AM – 1:30PM inside the second-floor cafeteria of the Student Center at NCCC’s Sanborn Campus. NCCC is inviting all alumni, students, employees, and friends of the College along with their guests to volunteer their time to help stuff these comfort bags. NCCC has pledged to stuff 750 bags so we need your help! Any amount of time and effort is appreciated.
We are asking all volunteers to please let us know ahead of time if you are coming. You can sign-up online for your specific time or shift at http://niagaracc.suny.edu/alumni/got-your-back.
