Carolyn Cianciosa Memorial Scholarship At Niagara County Community College

By News Archive

March 8, 2021

For more than 20 years, Carolyn Cianciosa was a faculty member at Niagara County Community College (NCCC). She had a critical role in establishing the Radiologic Technology (Rad Tech) program. Carolyn took pride in growing Rad Tech from 13 to 100 students before she retired in 2012. Sadly, Carolyn passed away on June 25, 2017.

To honor Carolyn’s memory, celebrate her 65th birthday, and carry on her legacy, her husband Robert Cianciosa established the Carolyn L. Cianciosa Memorial Scholarship at NCCC. Family and friends contributed to Carolyn’s scholarship recognizing that education and healthcare had always been an integral part of her life.

Students may apply for the Carolyn L. Cianciosa Memorial Scholarship and many other NCCC scholarships through the AwardSpring Scholarship System on NCCC’s website at https://www.niagaracc.suny.edu/scholarships/. The deadline to apply for fall 2021 scholarships is March 19, 2021.

If you would like more information about making a donation or establishing a scholarship, please contact Barbara DeSimone, NCCC Foundation Director at 716-614-5904 or email desimone@niagaracc.suny.edu.

June 5, 2020

The Niagara County Community College Foundation Office has continued to work tirelessly to raise funds for our students who are struggling with financial hardships caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. As of today, the NCCC Foundation has raised $15,000 to support 150 current students. Each student has received a $100 gift card to help purchase groceries, medicine, and other basic necessities.

This offering puts only a small dent in the mounting bills our students are facing due to unemployment and other hardships. Making even a small contribution can ensure that students do not have to choose between buying groceries for their families and maintaining the internet connection necessary to do their studies.

NCCC has now been provided with an incredible opportunity to double our donations and your impact on the Student Emergency Relief Fund! The SUNY Impact Foundation has promised to match dollar for dollar any gift made to the Relief Fund up to a total of $50,000 if made before July 1, 2020. Our goal is to maximize this match opportunity to provide as many students as possible relief from their financial struggles. Your support is crucial in ensuring successful outcomes for our students and they are counting on us!

Donations can be made online by visiting http://niagaracc.suny.edu/coronavirus/giving or checks can be made payable to the NCCC Foundation, 3111 Saunders Settlement Rd, Sanborn, NY 14132.
