A Pharmacy Technician is the assistant to the Pharmacist in a variety of settings including Retail Pharmacy, Hospital Pharmacy, the Insurance Industry, and the Pharmaceutical Sales industry. Offshoots include working with Electronic Medical Records and IT opportunities within large hospital organizations. A Career as a Pharmacy Technician
The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy. Licensed Pharmacy technicians will be expected to be mature, have good communication skills, be able to cooperate with a pharmacy team. Some aptitude in math will be required as well as the ability to prioritize tasks. Some computer skills will be required and the ability to type a plus. This program will prepare you for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam $129.00 (PTCB) www.ptcb.org. This license is currently a requirement to work in 24 states and is recognized in all 50 states as the standard providing a higher wage and access to a wider array of careers in those states.
