b'A COMMUNITY OF ACHIEVEMENTS Year in ReviewCampus of Good NeighborsBuffalo may be considered the City of good neighbors, but Niagara County certainly comes together as a community when times are tough.This community spirit and support has been a hallmark of hope during the global Coronavirus pandemic. The students, faculty, and staff of the College have made substantial contributions to the community-at-large over the past year.NFCI and star Culinary Arts student, Mackenzie Toponak, joined Chef Joanna of the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club to spread holiday cheer by donating homemade cookies to children within the program.The NFCI Student Club hosted a card-writing campaign for Fox Run at Orchard Park Assisted Living Facility residents to lift the spirits of those who may be suffering from loneliness due to the pandemic. Members of the Student Nurses Association organized a donation drive for Horizon Health Services where they collected various items including books, shoes, clothing, and DVDs as a way to give back to the community. Student Life hosted an event for Domestic Violence Awareness where they created toiletry kits for Passage House, a domestic violence shelter serving Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, and Niagara County. Student Life raised more than $5,580 for the 2020 United Way of Greater Niagara Campaign. NCCC served as one of four host sites for the Ride for Roswell. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. NCCC hosted the Vietnam Veterans of America parade line-up where hundreds of veterans and supporters met at the Sanborn campus to caravan with a police escort to the welcoming ceremony of The Wall that Heals traveling memorial.Staff from NFCI prepared hundreds of gingerbread cookies with decorating supplies for residents at Henry E. Wrobel Towers in Niagara Falls. The goodie bags were delivered to residents by employees of NCCC with help from the staff of Mount Saint Marys Hospital in Lewiston and Heart, Love and Soul Food Pantry in Niagara Falls. 2020-2021 Annual Report 23'
