The Liberty Partnerships Program was started in 1988 by the State of New York Department of Education to reduce the high school dropout rate in New York State. In 1989, a number of local community-based agencies and institutions of higher education formed the first Liberty Partnerships Programs.
Liberty at NCCC
The New York State Education Department awarded NCCC a new Liberty Partnerships Program 5 year grant for 1.75 million dollars. We will be able to provide longitudinal service to students in Niagara County for the duration of the grant cycle (2013-2017). The program serves students in grades 5-12 in 3 school districts encompassing 9 schools.
Niagara Liberty Partnerships Program
NCCC's Liberty Partnerships Program (NLPP) offers wide-ranging pre-collegiate and dropout prevention programs to youth in Niagara County. NLPP is designed to help "at-risk" middle and high school students succeed academically. This year-round program is housed at Niagara County Community College with home bases within three Niagara County school districts: Lockport, Niagara Falls, and North Tonawanda.
