Maureen has been with the SUNY Niagara Small Business Development Center since November of 2007. She has experience as a successful small business owner of two separate businesses. She worked for three years in the banking industry in financial services. Maureen graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Masters of Business Administration.

Maureen is a New York State Advanced Certified Business Advisor with a specialty in procurement, including government contracting and women, minority, and veteran certifications. The “Advanced” designation is earned by serving a large number of clients, receiving a high number of “excellent” client reviews, having a specific area of expertise, and helping clients achieve a major threshold of economic impact through her assistance. This certificate has been earned by fewer than 10% of New York SBDC Advisors.

In 2012, Maureen was honored with the Buffalo Region SBA’s Women in Business Champion award for her work with assisting women-owned businesses. In the same year, she was also named Business Person of the Year by the Newfane Business Association, where Mrs. Henderson has held the positions of president, vice-president, and chairperson of the Newfane Town Celebration. In 2014, Mrs. Henderson was honored as one of Buffalo’s 40 Under 40. She currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member for Lockport Main Street Inc.
