Katherine D. Alexander

Financial Secretary

Katherine D. Alexander was appointed to the SUNY Niagara Board of Trustees by the Niagara County Legislature in 2019. She is the Financial Secretary to the board, and is also the Chair of the Fiscal Committee.

A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Katherine received her bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University and her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School.  She has been a member of the bar since December 2011.

Katherine is a member of the board of the Niagara County Bar Association. She is also a member of Gratwick Hose Volunteer Fire Company and the Tonawanda Bar Association. She also spends her time training for marathons with the GOFR Running Club.

Katherine is First Assistant County Attorney for Niagara County where she represents the county in a number of civil matter, drafts departmental contracts, legislative issues, and research among other litigation. She is also an attorney in private practice including serving on the Attorney for the Child Panel, representing children in custody and divorce matters.
